Wars Central Rules.

(Created: 08/12/07.)

Welcome to the Wars Central community. Before you begin posting, please take a moment to read the rules listed here. All members must abide by these rules, and no one is exempt from them, including staff.

In order to keep the community in an ordered and safe state, anyone breaking the following rules will be punished, either by probation (otherwise called suspension of tempbanning), a temporary suspension of posting abilities, or permanent banning. Members will only be banned after they have repeatedly broken the rules, giving members a chance to rectify their behaviour.

Your membership on this forum is a privilege, not a right. Do not abuse it.

The Common Sense Clause:

When posting, use your common sense. Before posting, ask yourself the question: "Am I making a post which is either funny, informative, or interesting on any level?"

If it isn't, don't post it. Don't spam racial slurs in threads, don't insult other members, and just don't be a dick. Use your common sense, people.

The Clean Slate Clause:

This is for all of those who joined us from AWB. Your previous standing on that site means nothing here. All records were wiped clean, all your 'awesomeness' means absolutely jack here. People get pretty fed up with AWB nostalgia here, so don't refer to it often, if at all.

This clause has been talked about before, in this topic.

The IM/Forum Separation Clause:

When you approach or talk to any member on an IM program, don't automatically expect them to follow the forum rules or act the same way they do on the forum. This especially applies to staffers; I (Shade) am very different outside of the forums, because I have less restrictions on how I can behave. I'll try to not be a jerk, too. tongue.gif

----------------------------------------

The rules are as follows:

1. Use common sense. Would the person you’re flaming appreciate the insult? Would the other members like to see you spamming everywhere with the typing abilities of a six-year-old? Please, think before you post. A good rule to go by is this: does your post contribute to the topic in any meaningful way? If it doesn't, maybe you should rethink it.

2. No graphic material of pornographic or disturbing nature. Any posts featuring such content will either be deleted, or have links to such material removed. The usual punishment will also be enforced.

3. No illegal files, such as warez, cracks, or roms. Posts regarding such material, such as topics asking where to find illegal music files, will be deleted, as well as the mandatory punishment.

4. No extreme cursing or swearwords. Although we sympathise that you cannot control what you say in certain circumstances, repeated and intentional swearing will not be tolerated.

5. No flaming of other members. This includes, but is not limited to; racism, threats, victimisation, personal attacks, hateful posts, verbal abuse or mocking of other members. Members that reply in threads simply to instigate flaming will be severely dealt with.

6. Stay on topic in both the forum and the thread itself. Make sure your topic belongs in the proper forum, and that any replies are actually related to the topic. Moving threads to the proper forum wastes time the staff could be using more productively, so please make their jobs a little easier.

7. Non-contributing replies are not allowed. Replies containing such words as ‘first post’, ‘old news’, or anything similar are not allowed, as they contribute nothing to the topic, and are a potential launching point for a flame war. This also goes for extremely short posts, such as "lol" or "Fine.".

8. Abuse of the avatar and signature system is not allowed. Having these features is not your right – it is a privilege. Abuse of these features (such as offensive content) will result in measures being taken to either restrict the offender’s use of said feature, or remove it entirely. Going above the length limit for your signature is not allowed either.
NOTE: Sig length limit is equivalent to 15 lines of text, or thereabouts.

9. Absolutely NO SPAMMING. One-word posts, bumping old topics, pointless replies. We all hate them, so don’t bring them here. Punishments will be severe.

10. Respect the staff and their decisions. They didn’t get into their position without hard work, so respect the decisions they make, even if you disagree. A staff member’s word is final.

These rules may be changed at any time without warning, at the Administrator’s discretion.
